The Santa Ana River Trail - Section 5
10 Miles from the Beach - Edna Park heading south
South of Edna Park is another wooden bridge.
A closer look as we approach.
Looking northward, toward the golf course. Notice how the river turns into a concrete riverbed here.
Looking southbound, at 17th Street in Santa Ana.
Looking north, most of this part of the trail skirts homes and apartments.
An old abandoned railroad bridge at Spurgeon Intermediate School, near 5th Street.
Keeping the trail safe for all of us is the SAPD.
Looking north from around Edinger Avenue.
Centennial Park in Santa Ana. There's shade, water and plenty of grass here.
Looking down the path from Centennial Park. 7 miles to PCH from here.
Looking back from near the 405 Freeway. The 2.5 miles from Centennial Park to this spot is uneventful. The trail skirts mostly industrial buildings and there's not much to look at.
Looking south, toward the 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa.
We arrive at Suburbia Park, in the shadow of the 405 Freeway. A nice rest stop with plenty of shade and parking. The beach is about 4.5 miles from here.
